Job description:
The Musical Theater Teacher will be responsible for communicating knowledge and skills to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner. He or she will use a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources to present material to students. Planning, conducting , directing, and leading public performances by guiding students through their parts in a manner that expresses and emphasizes their talents and abilities are among the many skills that are standard. The Theater Teacher will oversee the details of performance design and work to create a piece of theater that fulfills the school’s vision. The teacher will work as a team member, sharing common planning, professional development, curriculum design with teaching and administrative responsibilities. The Specialty teacher will administer different forms of student assessments and plan their instruction for students based on the data from the assessments. Teachers will work to integrate or embed technology, writing and reading into their teaching and professional activities.

Job requirements:
Qualifications
• Must meet federal requirements under NCLB and meet the highly qualified status for
Massachusetts charter school educators
• Must hold a Massachusetts teacher license in Theater or an out of state certification, in which case you must obtain Massachusetts license within one school year
• Master’s degree in education preferred
• Two or more years of classroom teaching experience in urban setting preferred
• Proficiency in Piano, Voice and Dance is required
